This was a very good book about Mr. Emmett's experiences leading up to and while serving as a US Secret Service Agent. Mr. Emmett was a marine and then joined the USSS. He was a member of CAT (Counter Assult Team) which deals with weaponry and the paramilitary side of the USSS. Mr. Emmett also protected Presidents Clinton and Bush personally. Anyone who wants to know what the inside lifestyle and reality of being a successful Secret Service Agent is like will appreciate this biography. I also reccomend the books Protecting the President by Bongino and In The Secret Service by Jerry Parr.

Read this author's other book and thoroughly love that he wrote a follow-up for a younger reading set, perhaps interested in careers and intrigue. And the cover really stands out!

Everything about the Secret Service intrigues me. Such an honor for someone to make it to those ranks. This book was so insightful and well written. It gave me insight and answers to so many things I knew nothing about. A must read if your a fan of the Secret Service like me.

I Am A Secret Service Agent is the story of a young boy's dream came true. Dan was only 8 years old when President Kennedy was assassinated and from that moment on, he dreamed to become a Secret Service Agent. From college to a career in the Marine Corp, a opportunity came along to realize his dream and he took it but not without hard work that got him to that point. This is Dan's story of how you can have a dream and with hard work and persistence, anything is possible!This book captivated for two days for what this story is saying, yes it may be short but it's a great book to read! It's the most perfect book for youngsters to read and for them to realize that anything is possible if they put their minds to it. I loved the fact that this book was written in a way that was perfect for kids to learn what being a Secret Service Agent is like without scaring them about the really hard things that this job entails.Thank You to Dan Emmett for sharing your story with the world on what it truly means to have a dream of being a Secret Service Agent!!I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley!

I am a grown up and picked this up because I was curious. I found it difficult to put down (after the first couple of background chapters-which make sense to be there, however they are less exciting than the rest of the book, and are a bit choppy as has been previously mentioned). I was pleasantly surprised by how much detail was provided and how much time was covered, while still being exciting and interesting. It is really a treat to read a book by someone who clearly loved their job, even though it was really hard and often dangerous work and could have been, in many instances, when not dangerous, dull and repetitive. Instead, the author found the good parts, and shares them with us, along with some of his motivations and how he kept himself engaged. I found this a quick read and very enjoyable.

The experiences of Dan Emmett were very fun and interesting to read about. He delivered his journey to the audience in a very good manner, and it was fun to experience his growth and his rise in ranks. There are moments in this book that are extremely unique experiences one might not ever experience even if they were a secret service agent. That's what made his story especially fun to read. He is living proof that childhood dreams can be accomplished.
