Manage Passwords With A Rolodex

These days EVERYthing requires a username and password. You can't even shop online at your favorite store without being prompted to create an account. Some accounts require you to have special characters and numbers in your password, some have to be 25 digits long.... others are easy to remember but you can never remember what the darn website is!

I know there are expensive digital password manager out there, but if you are like me you don't want to spend the money, plus you don't trust the digital gadget (for security and technical issues). SO - why not pickup an inexpensive rolodex-type file to plug in all those username and passwords you keep loosing? File each account's info alphabetically by the company name or website, then write in the username/password and website address.

A super easy and cheap version of this could be created using a plastic recipe box, note cards and divider tabs. For a trendy look, decorate your box or buy a colorful, printed one.

This creates a concise little library of all your important accounts information. Allowing you to make up a different password for each account if you want, because looking it up will be quick and easy... and right at your finger tips. Store your rolodex file on your desk or tuck in a nearby drawer for added security. You'll never have to worry about this information being hacked into, or forgetting the important logins to all of your accounts.

Hopefully you'll never have to click on a dreaded "Forget your password?" line ever again!

A "Feng Shui" Home Office

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive energy flow (or "qi"). - Source: Wikipedia
**Its all about manipulating the objects in your space to create the right energy flow.**

How to Feng Shui Your Home Office - Feng Shui Tips
- Source: About.com: Feng Shui
1) Use feng shui to create your home office as far from the bedroom as possible. If the layout of your home allows, having a separate entry to your home office is ideal.

2) Plan your home office with your well-being and productivity in mind. What feng shui colors (see chart above), images, items make you feel happy, appreciated, successful, creative? Depending on your chosen field, you need to make your home office reflect the energy you want to project into the world.
WOOD: Rectangular
FIRE: Triangular
EARTH: Square
METAL: Round
WATER: Wavy

3) Be mindful of the quality of air and the quality of light (natural and artificial) in your home office, as these are two of the good feng shui must-haves. If your brain is starving for oxygen and your body does not get enough natural light, you will not enjoy working there no matter how much you love your job. Consider investing in full-spectrum lights and do bring at least a couple of air-purifying plants into your home office.

4) Position your desk so that you do not have your back to the door. This is the minimum feng shui requirement for the office desk. Be also mindful of not facing a wall while working at your desk. If you have to face the wall, use feng shui to make the wall "disappear" with vibrant images, beautiful art, etc; whatever brings a smile to your face and makes you breathe deeper and calmer.

5) Feng shui-wise, there are several important feng shui areas in your home office that need to be treated right.

South area (Fame and Reputation), or, a more exact translation, your "Light in the World." Its feng shui energy is Fire, so be mindful about nor having color blue, mirrors, fountains or images of water in this area, as Water element puts down the Fire energy.

North area (Career or Path in Life). The feng shui element here is Water, so this is the feng shui area for items representing water, as well as Metal (Metal creates Water in the feng shui cycle of 5 elements.) Without making it sound too complicated, you can place inspiring images related to your career in black or white frame colors in the North area of your home office.

Southeast area (Prosperity and Abundance). Bring images or items that speak to you of abundance and prosperity. The feng shui element here is Wood, so you need to avoid Fire images, as well as too much Metal.

6) Use feng shui to deal with clutter in your home office on a regular basis. As clutter drains your energy and dampens your best intentions, you need to create a clear system, and not let clutter ruin your health and your business. Mark a feng shui clutter clearing day on your calendar and you will be surprised how much better, more enthusiastic and energetic you will feel the next day. That is, provided that you have actually dealt with your clutter, rather than just contemplated it!

Organize Your Office in 10 Mins/Day

Found this article at Life Organizers.com...

Organization isn't an act. It's a process. And in just 10 minutes a day, you can create a system to turn your office into an organized space. No time to organize your office? Follow these daily steps to organize and then maintain your office.

1. On Mondays, de-clutter your office. Remove at least one item which you don't use at least monthly. Remove all personal items from your desk. Throw away pens that don't work. Reduce your ketchup/salt/napkin supply by 90%.

2. On Tuesdays, take inventory. Review your supplies and make a list or place an order. Take a few minutes to look through an office supply catalog. You'll find a myriad of useful organizing items.

3. Think on Wednesdays. How can you make better use of your computer? Can you develop a spreadsheet to help organize some aspect of your job? Do you need to find and register for a computer class? Do it today.

4. Thursday is sorting day. Go through all those business cards and small pieces of paper which have accumulated throughout the week. Put them where they belong. Also put away any reference materials you've been using.

5. Have fun filing on Fridays. End your week by cleaning up all the paper lying around your office. Purge your files. Have a mean and clean filing system which you can actually use.

Then have a wonderful weekend!
